The waterway is an original network that has shaped communities. These communities and their waters now face increasing existential threats from climate change and ongoing land rights debates. While these stories resonate across borders, we must acknowledge the contextual landscape in which they unfold, particularly as it comes under threat. Chile is an example of extreme neoliberalism in its environmental policy, meaning that the ways individuals and communities interact with these policies are indicative of how, regardless of our location, we can effect change that has ripples.
